RECMO IX Best!!!
Recently, UTPRCSU had conducted an annual event called Residential College Mesra Outreach (RECMO) for the ninth time. This RECMO IX has been held on 26th of August untill 29th of August 2010. The programme which being held for 4 days and 3 nights is being organized at the Kampung Redang Punggor , Teluk Intan, one hour and a quarter from UTP.
As for the introduction of this RECMO, this year, RECMO programme will be conducted in Kampung Redang Punggor, Mukim Labu Kubong, Daerah Hilir Perak, Perak. Located at south of Perak, Kampung Redang Punggor have almost 800 people with the area of 6000 acre. It has been founded early 1980’s and has already gone through many development with their main economy activity which is palm oil plantation. The theme for this RECMO IX is BERSATU HATI, MENYULAM BAKTI.
The main objective of this programme is to fulfil our responsibility towards the community, especially to students who are less fortunate by activities such as motivational programme. This programme is the proof that the students of UTP are concerned of the welfare of the people in the community and that we are willing to share our knowledge and experience with the younger citizen outside the circle of UTP. Furthermore, the students of UTP will have the opportunity to improve their communication skills and thus become the better leaders in the future.
RECMO is important as it promotes UTP not only as a leader in technology and education, but also the centre of creativity and innovation. By conducting this programme with the cooperation of the public, it shows that UTP is a multicultural university that accepts the diversity of cultures while not forgetting our own. It is also an indirect way to promote the good name of UTP to the people outside the circle of university. With full commitment and support from all parties, RECMO will be organized successfully and will receive a positive feedback from the targeted group.

SECOND DAY (27TH OF AUGUST)
Gathering in the morning for the 1st village activity
Walking to the palm oil plantation
Listening to the briefing done by the expert villagers
Trial done the participants
Picking up the palm oil fruits (very heavy)
Visiting to the catfish breading area
Visits to the mushroom farm
Preparations of cooking lemang
THIRD DAY (28TH OF AUGUST)
Registration of the village’s children
Assembly before starting the 1st module
1st module (Ushh)
2nd module (Ikatan Jalinan Kasih)
Presentation by international students (Egypt Cultural Dance)
Motivational talk by Tuan Haji Jalil ( Counsellor of UTP)
Parents watching their children with loyalty
