UPDATE: RETURNING THE ROOM KEYS

Assalamualaikum and hi,

Dear students,
.
Kindly take note of these points:
.
ALL STUDENTS must print and submit your room registration slip to the respective RV. Kindly write your phone number on top of the slip. It will be used for the record.
.
For the students that have registered for Village 3 and Village 4, please return your key by 5th May 2015 as your rooms will be used for events. Kindly keep your stuffs in the wardrobe ONLY and lock it. You may take back your room key on 14th May 2015 onward.
.
For final year students who want to stay in their APPROVED room in Village 3 and Village 4 during semester break for FYP, you MUST inform the respective RV by 5th May 2015 so that your room will be exempted for the event. For the INTERNATIONAL students that will stay during semester break, you also MUST do the same. Please do so to avoid any other issue.
.
For the students who registered in the other village, please return the current key by 5th May 2015. No need to return if you have managed to register your current room (REMAIN).
.
For the students that are coming from 4 months break/internship, you may take your APPROVED room key on 14th May 2015 onward.
.
For the students who want to keep your stuffs in the storeroom, we will open the storeroom soon. For details, please visit here.

Update:International student who are graduating

Assalamualaikum and hi,

Dear international students that will be graduated this semester,
.
You are allowed to stay in UTP until 18th May 2015. No hostel fees will be charged.
.
However, you must move to the temporary room after 5th May 2015 which is in:
i) V2E for male.
ii) V2C for female.
.
Kindly keep in mind to return your current room key by 5th May 2015.
.

ISSUE UPDATE: MAY 2015 ONLINE REGISTRATION

Dear students,
RCSU have made a discussion with RV Management regarding this issue just now.The points that have been discussed as below:
.
1. Remain in the same room for final year final semester
As stated in the post in SRCUTP 2010/2011 by Ku Nurasyiqin Ku Amir, it can be considered if your room has NOT been booked yet. Do approach the respective RV for registering.
For those who get the approval to stay in your current room, it is just for the semester break. You may stay during semester break and move to the other room if you CANNOT manage to register your room.
.
2. Remain in the same room.
If you CANNOT manage to register your room, kindly register for the other room. It is fair for the other person who already registered for that room as it is first come first serve basis. Kindly keep in mind to return your key by 5th May 2015 to respective RV office. Disciplinary action will be taken for the students who didn't do so. RV Management will not responsible for any loss of your stuffs as the room will be clear for the new owner.
.
3. Available beds(unbooked yet).
Attached is the number of available beds so far. Village 1, Village 2 and Village 6 Ruby have been reserved for July Intake. Please keep in mind the available beds are reducing. ITMS is currently struggling to solve the problem. Any further problem, you may report to ITMS.

4. Manual registration for those who are facing technical and financial difficulties.
Students who are in campus, you may approach the respective RV staffs for manual registration. For students from 4 months break/internship, you may email the respective RV to request the available room. Do show/attach your registration slips as the evidence you will be active for the next semester.
For MARA students, you may also manually register if your name are in the record. The name list as shown here.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Hostel Registration Issues

Assalamualaikum wbt and Greetings,

Firstly I would like to apologize to everyone who faces difficulties in pre-registration of hostel for next semester.
.
With the help of MPP, we have issue this matter RV management and propose some solution on this issue. We hope the action that RV will take is relevant and fair to all parties involved.
.
A bit updates, RV will start approving the pre-registration application starting tomorrow. Hopes, the process goes well.
.
Lastly, for those who are currently in the examination week. May everything be eased by The Almighty.
I would like to appreciate all of comments, complaints and initiatives from all of you regarding the matter above. We will compile them to present to RV in order to prevent this kind of situation from happening again.
.
Anymore info regarding pre-hostel registration, we will update it soon.

Clarification Regarding Accomodation for May 2015

Assalamualaikum and hi,

Dear students, 
Are you looking for some clarification? Feel free to spend your time to read this.

1. Why we need to vacate EVERY semester?
 
This policy has been achieved on Sept 2014. Accommodation inside of UTP is not sufficient for all students. Some students need to stay in SIBC. To make it fair, all students need to register through online room registration. First come first serve basis will be applied.

Note: As first come first serve basis will be applied, you need to vacate your room if you cannot manage to register your current room.

 2. But for this upcoming semester (MAY 2015), for those who manage to register their own room in V3 and V4 still need to vacate right? Why?'
Yes, you need. Start from 7th May until 13th May, there are two events will be held in UTP.  
i)  FLL Malaysia http://fll.sasbadi.com/competition.html
ii) SEKMA https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10202593970210215&set=gm.820858431331492&type=1&__mref=message_bubble
 

There are around 1500-2000 participants and expected 700-1000 rooms will be used. RCSU already proposed to use the blocks those have been reserved for July 2015 intakes (V1C, V2B, V2C and V6; Ethana, Propana & Methana). But as both events are national level, RV management decided to use Village 3 and Village 4 to uphold UTP reputation. 

Note: Negotiations made by RCSU rejected.

3. When will course registration open? 
We already asked registrar for many times. But still, there is no exact date decided by them. Kindly refer to registrar department for clarification. 

Note: Neither RV management nor RCSU who decide the date for both course and room registration. As usual, room registration will be open THREE days after course registration.  

4. Is it true if I don't pay may fee I can not register for my room?
Yes. You will not be able to register for your course and room.
 

Note: Kindly refer finance department for the clarification. 

5. Why I need to register for the same room again?
When online registration is open, all room is available to be occupied except the one that have been reserved. Thus you have to register online in order to stay in the same room.
 

Note: It is regarding the policy for us to vacate every semester. First come first serve basis applied.  

6. Which batch will be in UTP during May 2015 semester?
Jan11, Jan12, May12, Jan13, May13, Jan14, May14, Jan15, March15
 

Note: May semester is the semester that all UTP students are in active sem.  

7. Why UTP internet is so slow?
The internet problem should be reported to ITMS. Kindly refer to ITMS for clarification

Note: Same goes to PRISM . Neither RV nor RCSU handle these job scopes. 

8. I do not want to vacate my room!
You may. Just make sure to register in the same room. If you get a different room, you can transfer your stuff in the new room (with the agreement with previous owner).


Note: Register for the same room if you don't want to vacate. Again, vacate if you cannot manage to register your current room.

9. Store room is provided?
Yes. Kindly refer here.
 

Note: Pay for the deposit only.

10. Why May14 student need to stay at V6 (for male) and V2 (for female)?
You have TWO choices. Do online registration or manually register for your room in V6. As your final result will be released late, so RV Management decided to put all May 14 students in V6(male) and V2(female). It is to avoid majority of you to stay in SIBC as it will be maybe no empty room left for you inside the campus (male).


Note: You may register online but it is recommended for you to manually register in V6(male) and V2(female).

11. When can May14 student register for the room?
May14 students can meet Mr Latifi (V6) and Mrs Azima (Block O) starting Monday 13 April 2015 until 16th April 2015 to register for the room.  


RCSU already put our best to discuss with RV Management to get the best decision for all of us. Really sorry for any inconvenience.  We also the students like you that will be affected by the decision made. If you have any recommendation/suggestion/idea, feel free to deliver to us for further action. Good luck for your final exam. :)
